Lacrosse season is officially here. With the addition of new teams this year and the volume of games, we are going to spotlight a few games a week. The last couple of days have been especially busy and included some stellar match ups.
We take you first to Long Island where we traveled to on Wednesday, March 25th to cover Wantagh vs. Seaford. These are two of Long Island's best boys High School Varsity teams. However, on this's particular rainy night, Wantagh dominated most of the game. They emerged victorious with a 12-6 win in their first game of the season.
Also on Wednesday, March 25th, the Mamaroneck boys varsity team faced off against Bronxville. Bronxville is a three-time defending Section 1 Champion team and handily toppled Mamaroneck with a score of 18-7.
This past Saturday, March 28th, we headed up to Albany to cover an out of league game. Amid the persistent snow showers, Briarcliff took on Albany Academy at Albany College of Pharmacy. These two evenly matched teams competed diligently throughout the duration of the game. The win could have easily gone to either team but Briarcliff scored two goals in the 4th quarter to edge out Albany Academy with a 6-4 win.
