Dancing Around the World

Its time to Dance Around the World!  Just in time to get you in the mood to ring in the New Year, we have compiled a trailer from the Yanarella School of Dance 2014 Recital.

The recital included two acts in addition to The Chocolate Factory Ballet.  This recital never disappoints and once again lived up to its reputation of providing quality dance instruction to many students, both child and adult alike.

A Solstice Celebration

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of filming the Beacon Music Factory Solstice Celebration at the Howland Center in Beacon. Naturally some of my favorite events to shoot are those that feature my own children.  What can I say?  I am a proud dad!

The concert featured students performing with various instruments and each one of them did an outstanding job.  Although I am partial to my son's rendition of the Star Wars theme on piano! The celebration culminated with a holiday singalong.

So sit back, relax and enjoy the Solstice Celebration in its entirety.

O Christmas Tree

On Saturday, December 14th, the City of Beacon celebrated the holiday season with its annual tree lighting.  This is the fourth year that the City and BeaconArts have lit a tree fabricated out of recycled bicycle parts.  The public was encouraged to bring their own decorations made out of recycled materials to add to the tree

The celebration was held in between Cross Street and Main Street and included caroling led by the Beacon Music Factory Choir and a visit from Santa himself! Afterwards everyone was encouraged to stop by the School of Jellyfish for hot chocolate, cider and donuts, courtesy of Alps Sweet Shop and the City of Beacon Recreation Department.

Ready, Set, Dance

When you think of professional videography you usually think of weddings and special events.  However, here at Video Ventures, we have years of experience covering other special occasions, one of them being dance recitals.

In 2014, Video Ventures has had the privilege of shooting the dance recitals for four dance studios.  In two weeks, we will once again be the official videographer for Yanarella School of Dance.  As the father of a little girl with a passion for dancing, these are one of my favorite types of events to shoot!

It's never too early to start to think about 2015 spring recitals.  If you or someone you know is interested in having their child's dance recital professionally recorded, please keep Video Ventures Ltd in mind!

Because Every Mom's Nest Should Be Protected

A charity very near and dear to my heart is Sparrow's Nest.  Sparrow's Nest was founded by a good friend of mine, Krista Jones.  This organization cooks and delivers two trays of food to women with cancer in the Hudson Valley.

On October 19th, the Sparrow's Nest Superhero 5K Run/walk took place at the Dutchess County Rail Trail in East Fishkill.  Proceeds from the 5K were used to offset the costs of those running in the Disney Marathon in support of the mission of Sparrow's Nest.

To Have and To Hold

It was a Game of Thrones inspired wedding for Gail and Matt on September 13, 2014.  The wedding and reception took place at the Bride's parents sprawling estate located in Armonk, New York.

A down-pouring rain couldn't stop this bride from smiling as she exchanged "I do's" under a beautiful flower adorned chuppah. Their guests enjoyed cocktails and h'orderves and then proceeded into a magnificent tent that was decorated to look like it was part of the set of Game of Thrones. In additional to a traditional reception, the wedding guests were treated to traditional belly dancers and a jester juggling.

Friday Night Lights

The leaves are changing colors, the kids are back in school and we have less daylight -- which can only mean one thing -- fall is here.  However to local sports enthusiasts, it also signals the start of high school football.

I am currently in my sixth year of shooting football and this season will be the official videographer for two local teams -- Beacon High School in Dutchess County and Harrison High School in Westchester County.

I will be posting highlights from each game and hope that you will join me in cheering on and supporting these talented athletes.

Phantom of the Opera

Theme weddings and parties are the latest trend in special event party planning. Micayla's Sweet Sixteen party at was no exception.  Micayla chose the Phantom of the Opera as her theme at the Villa Venezia in Middletown, New York.

Upon arrival, her guests were greeted with a playbill and a ticket designating their table assignment.  The reception room was full of exquisite red roses and candelabras.

Micayla entered her party to music from The Phantom and was treated to a special performance of  "Music of the Night" by her grandfather. She and her guests enjoyed an evening full of dancing and great fun.
